Flood Management, Hydrology & Hydraulics

Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and related design work is a key aspect of our Water Resources Department. We are on the cutting-edge of computer modeling, using state-of-the-art programs to evaluate drainage and flood control systems and to design improvements from pipes to levees. Our work includes extensive analysis of precipitation and runoff, and one dimensional and two dimensional computer modeling of drainage systems and flood control systems throughout Northern and Southern California, Nevada, and Hawaii. Wood Rodgers has pioneered numerous new approaches to many aspects of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including levee breach modeling, the linkage of hydrologic and hydraulic models, and incorporation of Geographic Information System (GIS) into project models.
