As a primary designer on this Project, Wood Rodgers developed construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for over sixteen miles of levee improvements including soil-bentonite and cement bentonite cutoff walls, deep-soil-mixed cutoff walls, seepage berms, and pressure relief wells. Wood Rodgers had primary responsibility for identifying and sourcing borrow materials on the project (approximately 750,000 cubic yards), and relocation of 54 buried and overhead electrical utilities. Wood Rodgers performed alternatives analyses and designs for cutoff wall gaps and special design areas where roadways, rail lines or utilities presented complications for typical levee remediation techniques.
