Zones 3A & Zone 6 Drainage System Master Plans

Wood Rodgers was selected by the Alameda County Flood Control & Water Conservation District to develop detailed MIKE-URBAN hydrologic models of each of the entire Zones 3A and Zone 6 watersheds, and MIKE-URBAN hydraulic model of tens of miles of the closed conduit systems, a MIKE11 hydraulic model of tens of miles of open channel system, along with MIKE-21 two-dimensional model components. The models were calibrated and validated using recent events, and then presented to the District for their use. Wood Rodgers is also using the models to assess alternatives to reduce the flooding problems experienced in Hayward, Union City, and Fremont. The entire model system and results were compiled in easily accessible GIS for the District’s use.
