NDOT EPA NPES Audit Assistance

Wood Rodgers provided audit support to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) for the 2011 evaluation that was conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA audited NDOT’s storm water management program and their compliance with the related National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. Audit support activities consisted of a review of all storm water program related documents, inspections of construction sites and maintenance facilities, interviews with staff, review of reporting procedures and Annual Reports, and the preparation of a Self-Audit Report. The Self-Audit Report provided a review of the Storm Water Program, identification of potential Permit violations, and suggestions for program improvement. Wood Rodgers staff also assisted with pre-audit preparations and coordination required during the audit. EPA findings were consistent with those areas identified by Wood Rodgers as requiring improvement as part of our pre-audit activities.
