The Monterey Bay Sanctuary Trail is a recreation and interpretive pathway that links existing and new trail segments into a continuous coastal trail around Monterey Bay. It is a coastal path for walkers, joggers, bikers, families, locals, and visitors.Wood Rodgers has performed preliminary engineering for this one-mile stretch from Moss Landing Road to join the North harbor portions of the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Trail. The Conceptual Design report included conceptual drawings for two alternatives, an Advance Planning Study for the 380-feet-long bridge over Elkhorn Slough, a preliminary estimate of construction and project development costs, and a description of the environmental document and process for the extremely sensitive site. The results were presented to all interested stakeholders and permitting agencies at a “round-table” discussion. Final Design services were completed by Wood Rodgers for the trail section just north of Elkhorn Slough, adjacent to State Route 1.
