The Arboretum is a 1,350-acre mixed-use master planned community. The proposed development affects approximately 120 acres of on-site wetlands including vernal pools, swales and wildlife habitat. Wood Rodgers utilized GIS to perform over 10 different alternative wetland impact analysis scenarios. By organizing the data through field attribution, the information can be easily managed without having the need to create duplicate versions of files.

GIS was also used to calculate stream sinuosity of the local creek running through the project. The calculation of stream sinuosity is important to streamflow and determining the amount of sediment deposits that will affect discharge.
