The primary purpose of the project was to significantly improve erosion control and lake clarity, improve the visual appearance of the surrounding environment, and provide visitors and residents with a world-class open space and civic gathering place. The project consists of enhanced public beach access, stormwater infiltration, pervious paving and stabilization of the bluff to reduce erosion at the lake edge, terraced seating areas for lake viewing, improved picnic and BBQ areas, a food concessionaire building, a boathouse for non-motorized water crafts, a cantilevered lake walkway-overlook and a new waterfront plaza for community recreation. Wood Rodgers provided construction management, construction testing, materials testing, and special inspection services.
