Villages of Zinfandel is an 823-acre project which includes 1,836 dwelling units, 284 acres of commercial/office industrial uses, and 202 acres of public facilities including schools, parks and open space. The project is located on a former aggregate mine and required 12 million cubic yards of reclamation grading. Wood Rodgers provided engineering, mapping and surveying services during this multifaceted project. Engineering services included technical support during the entitlement process and the preparation of drainage, sewer, and water master plans for this mixed-use master planned community.
The drainage master plan included a 26-acre detention/water quality basin and a 23-acre joint use community park/detention basin. Major infrastructure for this project included a drainage pump station, the 26-acre detention/water quality basin, 1.3 miles of Zinfandel Drive, 4.7 miles of arterial and collector streets, water transmission mains, trunk sewer mains, and a sewer lift station. Additionally, transportation engineering services were utilized for the design of three traffic signals and our structural engineers designed four box culverts.
