University of Nevada, Reno,
Water Facility Master Plan

Location:
Reno, Nevada
Location: Reno, Nevada
Wood Rodgers prepared a detailed water facilities master plan for the University of Nevada, Reno’s 205-acre campus. Work included development of a network hydraulic model from as-built drawings, model calibration from field data, and network modeling of existing and future fire flows. The model was then used to determine the water system improvements needed to meet the anticipated future fire flow requirements (3,000 gpm for three hours). Due to topography, the campus water system consists of two independent pressure zones and it is served by eight points of connection to the municipal system.
