Working with City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department, Wood Rodgers developed a Class I bike trail/buffer landscape separating 2,300 residential units from the Fisherman’s Lake habitat area. During the Swainson’s Hawk nesting period, Class II bike trails have been designed to divert traffic during this sensitive time. The Class I / Class II bike trails meanders over three miles throughout the buffer and development. The trail network includes interpretive signage and seating areas while providing natural views using berms planted with native materials.
